Sheikh Dr. Ahmad bin Talib, Imam at Masjid al-Nabawi, Madinah al-Munawwarah, gave his Friday Jumah Khutbah on People of Understanding and Knowledge on 12 February 2021. He said, “We know that all the best thing is the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of Rasulullah and anything away is Bidat and Dalalah.
The Imam of the Masjid al-Nbawi said, “Let us make us understand that the Charter of friendship with Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala is all-encompass in Qur’an and Sunnah. And Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala has created each and everything and all the facilities of life – water, earth, mountains and the Heaven and the Earth – all these things Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala has created and draw our attention to it. We only turn towards Allah and seek forgiveness and friendship with Allah Alone. As Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala says that We have made each of you fitnah for others. So are you going to be patient? Human being has been created with the hastiness. We will show you the Signs of Allah so you will understand. When the disbelievers will face with fire in front and back, they cannot defend themselves. It will encompass them suddenly.”
Sheikh Ahmad bin Talib mentioned, “People have mocked messengers before but mocking has been turned on them and they were the losers. Are there other creators? Other Gods besides Allah? Who are taking attention of yours? Everything is created by Allah Alone. Allah says, “Don’t you see that We created and We maintain Heaven and earth. O Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam warned them that I am warning you with the information and inspiration from Allah. When they face the torments and the punishment of Allah they will realise that they were the wrong-doers. On the Day of Judgement Allah will put exact and fair scale and Allah is Sufficient for taking accounts and weighing all the actions.”
The Imam of the Masjid al-Nabawi said, “One of the perfections of Islamic religion is to disregard what is not useful in our life. So let us not indulge ourselves in wasteful time and activities - wasteful activities which have no benefit in this world and the Hereafter. Our Prophet Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam has said perfection of Islam is to disregard all the activities which are not useful in this world and the Hereafter. Let us not be deprived of the actions besides our knowledge and let us not be deprived of the alleviated situation with Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala.”
Sheikh Dr Ahmad bin Talib mentioned, “The knowledge alone is not sufficient unless followed by the actions. On the Day of Judgement only few Raka’at, unit of prayer, will be useful on the Day of Judgement just knowledge without actions is not useful.”
The Imam of the Masjid al-Nabawi said, “Allah knows you when He created you from nothing; when you are baby in the belly of your mothers. So don’t try to purify yourself. Allah knows who is pure and who is not purified. Are you not aware what is written in the Books before you that nobody will take blame for other people’s actions and anybody who does – whatever you do you will benefit and you will not be affected by the other. As our Prophet Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam said that when you pass away all your actions and accounts are closed except three things, either knowledge you have left or a child or offspring you have left or any Sadaqa Zaria.”
Sheikh Dr Ahmed bin Talib mentioned Allah decreed that all the disbelievers are the losers on today. “On the Day of judgement the disbelievers will put lame excuses that we did not do anything wrong but Allah knew perfectly what you are doing – the actions of disbelief. So enter the doors of Hell. We cannot prevent ourselves from losing on the Day of Judgement. Without knowledge and actions and urging each other for being on the right and to be patient as Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala has said in Surat-ul-Asr that all humanities had lost without Iman, without belief and without urging.”
The Imam of the Masjid al-Nabawi said, “Allah has declared that those who do believe and do good deeds they will deserve Jannah; they will not want to go away from it. O Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam, declare that if all the trees were pens and all the seas were the ink Allah’s Words will not finish. Those who are looking forward to see; to meet their Lord; let them not associate anyone worthy of worshipping Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala and do everything just for the sake of Allah and they should do good deeds.”
Sheikh Ahmad bin Talib said, “Let us observe Allah and do good and refrain from sinful activities. All the good news is for those people who heed to the warnings. As Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala says that O Muhammad, you only warn those people who listen and heed to your advice and warnings. Indeed, Allah is witness of everything and He is recording each and everything.”
He also mentioned, “Let us realise that Alhamdolillah and Subhanallah is the full pillar of the scale on the Day of Judgement. And in the scale on the Day of Judgement there is nothing more weighty – weightful things – than the good moral. When we declare La Ilaha Illallah from the bottom of our heart then we are the real believer.”
Full Khutbah at Masjid al-Nabawi
Followings are the khutbah at the Masjid al-Nabawi delivered by Sheikh Dr. Ahmad bin Talib on 12 February, 2021, [rendered into English by Mufti Barktullah@ Islam Channel, UK]
Sheikh Dr Ahmed bin Talib started his Khutbah by saying, “Indeed, all praise belongs to Allah. We seek forgiveness from Allah and we seek refuge from the worst effects of our actions. Those whom Allah guides no one can lead astray and those who lead astray no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam is His Messenger and His servant. I bear witness that Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam discharged his duties and he conveyed the Message and he did all his duties and he did all the things necessary to spread the dawah. May Allah send peace and blessings on Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam, his family his companions and all those who follow him till the Day of Judgement.”

“Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala will create on the Day of Judgement just to repay everyone whatever they have done. Allah is very very oft-Forgiving. “The losers are only upon whom worst falls back those who associate someone with Allah. Allah says: ‘On the Day of Judgement We decreed that all the disbelievers are the losers on today. On the Day of judgement they will put lame excuses that we did not do anything wrong but Allah knew perfectly what you are doing – the actions of disbelief. So enter the doors of Hell. We cannot prevent ourselves from losing on the Day of Judgement. Without knowledge and actions and urging each other for being on the right and to be patient as Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala has said in Surat-ul-Asr that all humanities had lost without Iman, without belief and without urging.
“Let us pray that Allah give us barakah whatever we have heard from the Qur’an and the Sunnah I said whatever you are hearing and we seek forgiveness from Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala. He is Oft-Forgiving.
Second Part
“Allah is the Sustainer of the Worlds and the end-result is only for the people who observe Taqwa. May Allah send peace and blessings on Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam and his family, his followers and his companions. Allah has declared that those who do believe and do good deeds they will deserve Jannah; they will not want to go away from it. O Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam declare that if all the trees were pens and all the seas were the ink Allah’s Words will not finish. Those who are looking forward to see; to meet their Lord; let them not associate anyone worthy of worshipping Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala and do everything just for the sake of Allah and they should do good deeds.

Dua and Supplication
“Let us send peace and blessings on Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam and his family as Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala urges us that Allah and Angels do. So, O followers, O believers, send peace and blessings on Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam. O Allah, we ask You to send peace and blessings on Muhammad and his family and his companions like You have sent peace and blessings on Ibrahim and his family and You are independent. O Allah, give barakah on Muhammad and his family and followers as You have sent barakah on Ibrahim Alaihey Wa Sallam and his family and May Allah send salutations from us on Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihey Wa Sallam.
“O Allah, forgive our transgression and transgressing. O Allah, forgive us all the things which we committed in private and in public and whatever You know and people do not know. You are the Only in-charge of things back and forward. O Allah, You are the Only worthy of Worship and we are the wrong-doers ourselves. O Allah, forgive us all our sins – big and small and public and in private. O Allah, give us the best results at the end of the day and save us from the torments of the Day of Judgement.
“O Allah, honour Islam and Muslims and dishonour Shirk and Musrekeen and make the lands of Islam and Muslims and this country – all the countries of Muslims – countries of lands of peace and tranquillity. O Allah, only make our in-charge those who are Muttaqeen and those who are observing Your Commandments in the public affairs. O Allah, empower our Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his associates to do, to work for the betterment of the land; for the betterment of the peoples. O Allah, help them to achieve this goal. O Allah, give us goodness in this world and the Hereafter and save us from the torments of the Day of judgement.
“Allah urges you to administer justice and do good and refrain from bad things and enjoin the relationship. Allah urges you to do good and refrain from bad things.
“Let us thankful. Let us thankful to Allah and remember Allah because He has mentioned, His Zikr is the highest and Allah knows what we are doing.” Imam Sheikh Ahmed bin Talib concluded his Khutbah.
